The YSVOGEL project was initiated in 2022 when Interventional Cardiologist Jeroen Wilschut conceived an innovative approach to optimizing the precise and efficient placement of stents near an ostium.
Over the next two years, he further developed the concept within the facilities of Erasmus MC, collaborating with external partners to refine the technology. In 2025, YSVOGEL was established with the mission of bringing this breakthrough to market and setting a new standard for the 1.2 million ostial stent placements performed annually.
